1. Terminator 2: Judgement Day
Terminator 2: Judgement Day's teaser is known for using completely original footage and was directed by the late Stan Winston, the man responsible for the creature effects of films such as Aliens, Predator and Jurassic Park.
The trailer answers one of the lingering questions in the series with regards to how Terminators are made. Inside Skynet's factory, we see the familiar T-800 being built in an assembly line. Its limbs are attached in a systemized manner until it reaches the last step, the Cyborg Tissue Generation. As metal doors close on the robotic skeleton, organic flesh is placed onto the Terminator, and the doors open to reveal a muscular man.
The teaser then ends with the return of Arnold Schwarzenegger, fulfilling his promise to be back.
What makes this teaser special is that it adds to the series lore while capturing the visuals of James Cameron.
Through Stan Winston's effects wizardry, audiences got to see how the Terminators were built. At the same time, the trailer never spoils the T-800's allegiance and shows no hints of the T-1000. In a film franchise known for its twists being spoiled by marketing, T2 succeeds by keeping its cards close to the chest.
