After the break up of the Avengers, Thanos came. Without a united front to face him, the Mad Titan wiped the floor with Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, and even after Thor chopped his head off, with the Infinity Stones destroyed, they had no choice but to regroup and go back in time.

Thor spiraled into his pit of depression, and Steve seemingly focused on helping others in a different way. Vision was dead, and Wanda and Sam were turned to dust, but the team did have some new additions. Nat oversaw an Avengers team that included Rhodey, Captain Marvel, Okoye, Rocket, and Nebula, allowing them the reach into the galaxy they had never had before.

For five years they patrolled Earth and the stars beyond, until Scott Lang returned from the Quantum Realm to join the team. He essentially subbed in for Okoye, while the rest of the original Avengers were brought back to bring the ludicrous idea of the Time Heist to life.

It was this version of the Avengers that brought three billion people back to life, and though they were helped on the battlefield by a few friends, they were instrumental in bringing down the biggest threat the universe had ever faced.
