6. The Three Snake-Leaves
Marriage is a chore, and one must always sacrifice to make it work. Take the hero of The Three Snake-Leaves; to marry the princess, he had to promise that if she dies before him, hed be buried alive with her. Till death do us part? Absolutely not! Sure enough, the princess dies shortly after, and the hero is locked away in the tomb wondering if it was really worth it. A snake appears and tries to kill the hero, and the snake is sliced into three pieces for its trouble. Through magic and luck, the hero receives three leaves from the snake that can resurrect the dead. He saves his wife from death, and in return she tries to drown him a few months later. This was a marriage that could use a bit of work
