10 Hardest Working Stars In Hollywood Right Now

8. Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson

Has Dwayne Johnson finally allowed us all to call him The Rock again? I don't care, I'm gonna do it anyway. Everyone who watches films and follows him on twitter knows that The Rock is a hard-working beast. With a massive five films released in 2013, The Rock had a very work-filled year. Some of them (Fast & Furious 6, G.I. Joe: Retaliation) were better than others (Snitch, Pain & Gain) but he still grossed almost $1.4billion at the box office. According to Forbes, The Rock returns almost $80 for every $1 he's paid, which, so far, is the highest of any of the stars we've featured. Somewhat unsurprisingly, when The Rock first made his way into films after working at WWE with the very disappointing 2002 film The Scorpion King, everyone assumed his career would follow the likes of 'Rowdy' Roddy Piper and Hulk Hogan, where he'd do a few direct-to-DVD action films and then return to the ring, but his box office staying power has proved the public have really taken him into their hearts. The Rock's personal motivation is mainly his family - he wants to provide for them and clearly isn't taking his new-found career for granted. 2014 seems to be a fallow year for The Rock, with only one film on his IMDb - Hercules: The Thracian Wars. 2015, I'm sure, will be another huge year for him.
