10 Harry Potter Actors We Wish Would Join The MCU

5. Maggie Smith

One look at Maggie Smith and you could peg her for Madame Web. If Sony doesn't scoop her up, Marvel should find a home for her in The Eternals sequel. Smith's work in Downton Abbey sets her up nicely in a regal role within a new group of heroes (or villains).

Unfortunately, the downside to Maggie Smith is that she very well may not be interested in entering a universe as vast as Marvel's.

She's on record saying that herself and Alan Rickman were, at times, displeased with how they were put to use in the Harry Potter films. She said that the experience wasn't always fulfilling and that she didn't feel like she was acting. Smith suggested that she and Alan Rickman were primarily doing "reaction shots".

Unless she's cast in a starring role that gives her something substantial to work with, it's unlikely we'll see Maggie Smith in the MCU anytime soon. Still, respected stars like Sir Anthony Hopkins have received powerful roles in the MCU, so here's hoping Smith may be offered the same.
