10 Harry Potter Characters Who Are Way Better In The Books
1. Ginny Weasley
Ginny Weasley is the youngest member of the Weasley family, and just like her older brothers, she has plenty of talent when it comes to spellcasting and sporting aptitude.
She’s also Harry’s love interest in The Half-Blood Prince and The Deathly Hallows. But unfortunately, their romance doesn’t click in the movies. Forced to weave this romantic subplot around the main storyline, the script doesn’t give Harry and Ginny’s relationship enough time. Conversely, their romance is more authentic in the books thanks to the slower pace and the use of Harry’s internal monologue.
What’s more, the book version of Ginny is much more confrontational. She isn’t afraid to challenge her parents and her brothers. Indeed, she has a full-blown shouting match with Ron when he sees her kissing Dean in a deserted corridor. And Ginny also proves her might as a Quidditch player, too. In The Half-Blood Prince, she’s the best chaser on the team and is integral to Gryffindor’s success in the Quidditch Cup.
If you’ve only seen the films, Ginny probably isn’t one of your favourite characters. But those who’ve read the books know she’s actually a formidable witch with a badass personality.
