10 Harry Potter Characters Who Were Sorted Into The Wrong House
4. Percy Weasley
Sorted House: Gryffindor
Correct House: Slytherin
Percy was another member of the Weasley family who should not have been in Gryffindor. There was little to suggest within Rowling’s seven Harry Potter novels that he was a particularly brave person.
He was, however, very ambitious. Even whilst he was at Hogwarts, Percy was a little too proud of being both a prefect and head boy.
After leaving school, his desire for power only intensified. Following Voldemort’s revival at the end of The Goblet of Fire, Percy denied the Dark Lord’s return and also neglected his family. Before leaving the Burrow, he claimed that Mr Weasley had no ambition, which was why the family had never been particularly wealthy.
He then remained loyal to the Ministry of Magic until the finale of The Deathly Hallows, during which he apologised for his behaviour. Despite this act of redemption, Percy was undoubtedly a wizard who valued ambition above bravery, loyalty, or wisdom.
