10 Harry Potter Moments You Never Knew Were Improvised

5. Luna's Dotty Dance

This smashing little moment occurs at the wedding of Fleur Delacour (Clémence Poésy) and Bill Weasley (Domhnall Gleeson) in 2011's Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part 1.

Unlike the books, Harry is not in disguise, but boldly out in the open, scar and all, which means we unfortunately miss out on one of the bonding moments between him and Luna Lovegood (Evanna Lynch) as she intuits who he is on sight, all from a mere expression.

Nonetheless, Luna is present, and she brings all the touches of Lovegood oddity that we have come to love and expect. Amongst these is her unique approach to formal dance.

The story goes that a choreographer was brought on set to curate the 'proper' dancing for the wedding scenes, but was unable to come up with anything quite strange and uncoordinated enough to fit the Lovegood family's unconventional style.

As this is perhaps the final fun, carefree moment in the entire series, it is fitting that Lynch and on-screen dad Rhys Ifans went their own way, creating between themselves an ad hoc, spinning, hand-waving and entirely unique dance to complement their personalities.
