10 Harry Potter Plot Points Cut From The Movies That Can Be Used In The TV Reboot
9. Rita Skeeter Is An Animagus
Throughout the fourth book, one mystery that stumped the golden trio (especially Hermione) was how Rita Skeeter was always able to get the biggest scoops, even when people refused to talk to her.
The nosy reporter came to Hogwarts to interview the Triwizard Tournament champions, all while using inaccuracies, twisting stories and finding out secrets to stir up drama.
Rita revealed to the world that Hagrid was actually half-giant - something that is frowned upon in the wizarding world - which prompted letters from concerned parents about having a dangerous giant teaching their children at school.
Hermione was onto Skeeter from the very beginning, but didn't know how she was finding out the secrets. Throughout the Goblet of Fire book, a beetle is mentioned multiple times, though in a way that many readers would forget about in just a few seconds.
By the end of the school year, Hermione figured out that Rita is an unregistered beetle Animagus and would listen in on other people's secrets. When finding this out, Hermione trapped Skeeter in her beetle form in a jar imbed with an unbreakable charm that would stop Rita from transforming.
Hermione used this to blackmail Skeeter by threatening to report her to the Ministry of Magic as an illegal Animagus.
