10 Harsh Truths About The MCU Fans Won't Admit

6. Superhero Fatigue Has Definitely Settled In

After almost a year of no superhero films, a certain momentum has worn off the MCU (and DCEU for that matter). Whether the end of the Infinity Saga felt like closing the last page on a very long book, or fans' attention drew them to other genres of media, it has to be admitted that the call for superhero films isn't as loud as it used to be.

Spider-Man: No Way Home was a blissful walk down Nostalgia Avenue, and it's looking like Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness might scratch some of that itch again. With all the source material at their disposal, the head honchos at Disney have no reason to slow down this multi-billion dollar train, but have Disney asked if audiences have had enough yet? Because trains do eventually stop.

Outside the mainstream film studios, the market for superhero content has become saturated to the point where it is bordering on parody. The Boys, Invincible, Watchmen, Jupiter's Legacy and all those live-action shows in the DC Universe are just becoming more varieties you'd be forgiven for confusing each other with. Even worse is half of them aren't even trying to separate themselves.

As much as we are excited to see Mahershala Ali debut as Blade, or whatever the heck is going to happen with the Fantastic Four, we cannot suggest it is any different now from the dozens of other interconnected superhero content that is out there right now.

Sadly, the MCU is not as unique as it once was.

I overthink a lot of things. Will talk about pretty much anything for a great length of time. I'm obsessed with General Slocum from the 2002 Spider-Man film. I have questions that were never answered in that entire trilogy!
