10 Harsh Truths About The MCU Fans Won't Admit

5. There's Too Many Heroes Now

As exhilarating as it was to see all the heroes we'd collectively gotten to know over ten years stand shoulder-to-shoulder with each other in Avengers: Endgame, one has to admit that not every hero got a shining moment in that final fight. The likes of Drax, Groot, War Machine, Bucky and even Hulk himself were somewhat reduced to background skirmishes whilst other characters took centre stage.

Admittedly, you cannot dedicate two-minute action set pieces to every character, but with the ever-growing team of heroes banding together, the Avengers family doesn't seem to be shrinking at any point. Side-characters have been promoted to major roles, and since only a handful of characters have stepped away from the series, way more characters have been introduced in their place.

It's a little bit like The Walking Dead in that respect - kill or remove one character, and half a dozen sprout up in their place.

Introducing more heroes is certainly not something the MCU should stop, but it is getting more difficult to keep track of the current roster of superheroes. Like getting all the action figures out to play, some of them are being left discarded and cold as newer and shinier heroes get added to the game. Shang-Chi, Moon Knight, the Eternals, new Black Widow, Defenders and Blade are all additions to this universe, and we still haven't got round to the X-Men and Fantastic Four yet.

At what point do you admit that there are too many cooks in the kitchen, and maybe even more characters have to be trimmed?

I overthink a lot of things. Will talk about pretty much anything for a great length of time. I'm obsessed with General Slocum from the 2002 Spider-Man film. I have questions that were never answered in that entire trilogy!
