10 Harsh Truths About The MCU Fans Won't Admit

3. They're Running Out Of No-Show Excuses

It has been fun to see the MCU build its world piece by piece, character by character, cataclysmic event by cataclysmic event.

With each new chapter, a new hero has joined the assembled army of heroes - whether they are a newbie like Ant Man or Spider-Man, or have existed for centuries with their power and enhancements. The only problem with the MCU expanding their universe more is, the reasons for some of these characters keeping their heads down is getting a little flaky.

There is only so much hand-waving replies a character can make when questions about their lack of presence during the multiple alien invasions that have happened across fifteen years. Between the Wakandan troops, Eternals, Kamar-Taj Sorcerers and Captain Marvel, a lot of their excuses for sitting on the sidelines are becoming extremely paper thin.

Even when a wormhole opened over New York and an army of Chitauri aliens came pouring through like a burst valve, the Eternals did nothing due to principal? When Ronan The Accuser sent an army to attack Xandar, it didn't float under Captain Marvel's radar? Are you starting to see where you're writer is going with this?

As much as it is good to see certain characters throw away their old rules and finally step up to the plate as one of the collective heroes, the MCU can't sustain the premise that some heroes have existed for centuries but remained in secret. If it turns out Reed Richards was stretching himself off on the sidelines during Endgame, fans won't be too impressed.

I overthink a lot of things. Will talk about pretty much anything for a great length of time. I'm obsessed with General Slocum from the 2002 Spider-Man film. I have questions that were never answered in that entire trilogy!
