10 HATED Actors Everyone Was Wrong About

8. Ryan Reynolds

Batman Twilight
Fox

Another actor who at one point could have been written off as a goofy pretty boy - Ryan Reynolds had his own "Rey-neissance" somewhere around 2011, and it could not have gone better for him.

Once the go-to fella for dumb "bro comedy" films like Van Wilder and Waiting, it seemed like Ryan Reynolds was taking any gig studios would throw at him. Blade Trinity, Just Friends, The Proposal and the infamous Wolverine: Origins and Green Lantern movies, all seemed like a cry for help from the Canadian actor.

It was only when the recent revival of Deadpool hit cinemas did we start to see Ryan Reynolds in a whole new light. He's still the comedic actor from a decade ago, but it seems over the last few years, he's found a tone that resonates well with his comedic style.

The Hitman's Bodyguard and 6 Underground do still smell of his earlier work, but the refined and (probably not) more mature Ryan Reynolds has learned to harness those cheesy films into something more tangible. And we love him for it. He's self-aware, he's charming, and even if you don't like his films, you can't help but love him for his Twitter.

I overthink a lot of things. Will talk about pretty much anything for a great length of time. I'm obsessed with General Slocum from the 2002 Spider-Man film. I have questions that were never answered in that entire trilogy!
