Other Names/Alias: Dick Grayson, Jason Todd, Damien Wayne, Clark Kent (among others). First Appearance: Tales of the Teen Titans #44 (1984, Grayson) Powers and Abilities: Nightwing possesses no superhuman powers, but is at peak physical condition, has an extensive knowledge of weaponry, hand to hand combat and acrobatics. Batman is undeniably the most recognizable DC comics character, but almost as iconic, is his sidekick Robin. The Robin depicted in TV and cinema of the past has always been a joke. From the cheesy, camp days of Burt Ward's Robin in the 1960's to Chris O'Donnell's absurd performance in Batman & Robin (1997), the character hasn't been done justice. In this era where comic book adaptations maintain quite a serious tone, it's the perfect time to see Robin in his grown-up form, Nightwing. Nightwing is a great character and the Batman/Nightwing dichotomy would be an interesting one to portray on screen (presumably as Dick Grayson). Not only that, but if the DC movie universe is going to expand, it'll need to introduce other supporting characters in order to flesh out each member of the Justice League's own persona. Nightwing is the perfect character to start with - he's popular, recognisable and undoubtedly an important staple of the modern Batman lore.
