10 Heroes We Need To See In The DC Cinematic Universe
2. Lobo
Other Names/Alias: The Main Man. First Appearance: Omega Men #3 (1983) Powers and Abilities: Formerly possessed the ability to clone himself. Natural regenerative and healing factors, as well as superhuman strength. Knows various kinds of combat forms. Excels with explosive weapons, chain/hook he has tethered to his right hand. Also has a space-fairing motorcycle. In his early days, Lobo was a stereotypical B-villain for Teen Titans spin-off The Omega Men, but his origins, style and personality were later retconned. He was then revived as a pastiche of several popular Marvel characters in the early 90's, such as The Punisher and Wolverine, and became a fan favourite due to his over-the-top nature and comical personality traits. Due to fan clamouring for am anti-hero based, comical adventure, case in point: Deadpool, a timely Lobo film could prove popular. Most successful Marvel/DC films create quite a moody, serious atmosphere, meaning that there's clearly a huge gap for something more fun and comical, while still appealing to older audiences. As a character Lobo is highly distinct and irreplaceable, meaning he's a very unique asset who should he be used. However, because of several failed past adaptations and his popularity dissipating, the boat has probably sailed on a Lobo appearance in a DCU film. That being said, the potential is still very much there.
