10 Heroes We Need To See In The DC Cinematic Universe
7. The Question
Other Names/Alias: Vic Sage/Charles Victor Szasz, Renee Montoya, The Question. First Appearance: Blue Beetle #1 (1967) Powers and Abilities: 'Genius-Level' intelligence which makes him an impossibly good detective. Has a firm grasp of hand to hand combat and acrobatics. Equipment includes a 'blank' face hiding mask, in addition to a utility belt traditionally holstering chemicals that allows The Question to alter his form via his hair or clothes, quickly and discreetly. The Question is a conspiracy theorist/genius which makes him the ultimate detective (possibly greater than the world's greatest?). He is a master of disguise, logic and absurd theorems which are often true. The primary appeal is that his identity has nothing to do with offensive prowess or physical enhancement - he's an agent of espionage concerned with knowledge and information. Simply put, The Question is a breath of fresh air compared to typical super-beings that are capable of any physical feat, though he isn't the most applicable of heroes. Some of the best superhero films so far have been ones that don't directly follow that goofy Saturday morning cartoon style, but instead draw on elements of other genres. Much like Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014) drawing from the action genre, and Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy (2006-2013) being inspired by noir, detective and crime films, The Question harbours great potential, possibly in his own detective adventure. This isn't very likely as The Question is fairly obscure, so he'll most likely appear in a bit-role or as a supporting character, if at all.
