10 Heroes We Need To See In The DC Cinematic Universe
8. Hawkman
Other Names/Alias: Carter Hall, Katar Hol, among others. First Appearance: Flash Comics #1 (1940) Powers and Abilities: Flight (via use of Nth metal armour), enhanced strength, nth metal weaponry, 'hawk' senses. In some continuities, Hawkman is an ancient Egyptian prince reincarnated as a modern day archaeologist. In others, he's a rebel from the planet Thanagar. Hawkman's origin and identity has been scrapped and revived more times than anyone would care to recall. At first you might think Hawkman is a typical Saturday morning superhero that reeks of garish design from the kooky days of the 1940's, but his persona is not one to be taken lightly. Hawkman is known for his short, aggressive temper and outlandish demeanour which make him a highly unorthodox hero. Hawkman doesn't have any particularly flashy powers that you won't have seen before, but his appeal lies almost entirely in his persona. As a character, he is the firecracker, the one who questions the team leader, the one who often does what he wants against better judgement. Hawkman holds a lot of potential as a general hero, one set different from the mould of cookie-cutter good guys such as Superman.
