10 Hidden Details In Movie Closing Scenes

After years of anticipation, the answer to the mystery surrounding exactly who Rey's parents were all along was revealed in 2019's Rise of Skywalker. Turns out she's a Palpatine.

Yet, once Rey had gotten over the fact that she's related to the most evil individual to ever grace the galaxy, she destroyed the Emperor and eventually went to visit Luke Skywalker's childhood Tatooine home in the wake of the Resistance's victory. It's in this final scene that we see Rey burying both the Jedi Master's and his sister Leia's lightsabers in the sand, before she reveals that she's crafted her own Jedi weapon.

Most people were rightly mesmerised by Rey's choice of a yellow saber and this meant that they completely missed a small detail which adds more weight to her 'Rey Skywalker' moment at the end of the flick.

If you look closely, you can see a green and blue light flash at the tip of her weapon before the yellow blade bursts out. This seems to suggest that Rey combined the Kyber Crystals from Luke and Leia's weapons (or possibly Luke's old Return of the Jedi lightsaber) and used them to build her own version of the iconic laser sword.

There's still no word on whether or not this is definitely the case, but it would be a cool way of keeping the Skywalker's with her going forward. It would also suggest that you get yellow when mxiing the colours of blue and green in this galaxy!
