10 Hidden Details You Never Noticed In Famous Movie Posters
1. Time Runs Out (127 Hours)
Just in case the title didn't make it clear, time is an important theme in 127 Hours.
The movie follows thrillseeker Aron Ralston, who goes on a hike that ends in disaster when his arm becomes pinned beneath a boulder, trapping him in place. He's in the middle of nowhere, his supplies are running low, and there's nobody around to save him.
The movie pits Aron against the clock, in a brutal fashion: if he doesn't figure out a way to escape, he will die here, sooner rather than later. You can feel the pressure piling upon him as the hours tick by, and the urgency of his situation is something that's cleverly reflected by the subtle design of the movie's poster.
The poster shows Aron balancing himself between two rock walls, with that fateful boulder directly below him. It's not immediately obvious at first, but look at the shape of those rock walls and you can see that they curve in and out just like an hourglass, capturing the movie's core struggle - that Aron's time is ticking away, and that the boulder is responsible for this - in one simple image. Brilliant.
