6. Ang Lee Contributed His Own Rage Using Motion Capture Technology - Hulk (2003)

Nobody seems to have worked out whether or not Ang Lee's take on the big green transformation is an unappreciated slice of cinematic genius or a seriously mis-guided pretention party (the director himself came to admit that he should've had more "fun" with it). The story, of course, involves scientist Bruce Banner, played by Eric Bana, who gets caught in a radiation chamber and later discovers that getting angry transforms him into an angry monster with an unrivalled ability to jump really, really far and break tanks and stuff. Much of the Hulk's movement was generated using motion-capture technology, and Ang Lee himself even got involved in the process, channeling his own anger and frustrations with the project into the backend of the movie. Presumably they would've got an even angrier performance out of Lee once he read the reviews.
