With the slasher subgenre well and truly riding a wave of popularity, 1982 saw J. Piquer Simon serve up Pieces, aka Mil gritos tiene la noche.

A quite simple premise, Pieces features a demented killer who carves up a college campus and uses his victims' body parts to form a human jigsaw. See, "Pieces", geddit?!

As Pieces opens up, ten-year-old perv Timmy is berated by his mother for having a jigsaw puzzle of a naked woman. Not happy with being put on the naughty step, the crazy little bastard returns with an axe and hacks up his ma.

Convincing the cops he had nothing to do with this murder, Timmy is sent to live with his aunt and the film then jumps ahead 40 years. Here, we pick things up on a Boston campus that finds itself under attack from a killer who collects body parts, with several of our cast positioned as the person behind these brutal acts.

Sure, it's a tad nuts at times and some of the performances aren't exactly the best, but Pieces is must-see for any slasher fans. Plus, y'know, it even has a decaying, stitched-together mish-mash of a corpse play a key part in its finale.
