10 Hidden Gem Slasher Horror Movies

5. Lucky

Dressed to Kill
Shudder

Released earlier this year, the Natasha Kermani-directed Lucky is part slasher movie, parter psychological thriller.

Here, Brea Grant - who also wrote the film - stars as May, a self-help author who is stalked in her home every single night by a masked man. Even when she kills this strange figure, that's still not enough to stop him, for he once again returns to terrify the very next night.

It would be unfair to give too much away about Lucky, for it's only been available for a handful of months - it can be currently found on Shudder - but the film is one that has a grander message pertaining to the mental and physical abuse that some women experience at the hands of men.

While it's best to steer clear of going into the ins and outs of the plot too much, one thing that can be said is just how damn phenomenal Brea Grant is as she carries the vast majority of the minimalistic Lucky on her back.

If looking for a slasher movie that has a little more going on than the norm, Lucky is the perfect choice.
