10 Hidden MCU Details You Never Noticed

7. Captain America: The Winter Soldier - Fury's Grave

Captain American: The Winter Soldier marked a bit of a turning point for the MCU. After the Avengers became one of the most profitable blockbusters ever made, seeing the Star-Spangled Avenger turn into a certified badass in this borderline spy thriller was a welcome change of pace for the MCU going forward. Even though there is an uncertain ending for our heroes in this outing, there's a funny tidbit in between all the seriousness.

Seeing how SHIELD has been compromised by HYDRA, Nick Fury decides to take time to go undercover for the time being. While burning the remaining evidence of his glory years, Fury comes to rest at his decoy burial site to discuss what the future holds for Steve Rogers. Though it's already strange to see Fury looking at his own gravestone, it's a little bit funny looking at the biblical quote on the granite.

Taken from the Book of Ezekiel, the quote about the Path of the Righteous Man is more than just some passing words of wisdom. In fact, this valuable piece of advice is actually a paraphrased version of the monologue that Samuel L. Jackson gave years before when he was in Pulp Fiction. Though Marvel remains an insular universe for the most part, this kind of Easter Egg is a worthy tribute to the great Jules Winnfield.
