10 High Grossing 2015 Films That Actually Made No Profit

1. Pan

Production Budget: $150,000,000 Worldwide Gross: $108,072,776 Estimated Losses: $191,927,224 Few were surprised when Pan didn't prove to be a box office hit. Aside from Hugh Jackman it has no bankable stars, and the Peter Pan stories it is based on have been done dozens of times in movies already. However, very few analysts predicted that the movie would do so badly it would top the list of biggest bombs of 2015 so far. While Pan is still in theatres, unless it can rally another $20 million (which is unlikely) it will remain the top money loser of 2015 and Warner Bros. biggest bomb of all time. What makes the failure of Pan even worse for Warner Bros. is that Pan is one of SIX movies on this list that Warner Bros. produced and/or distributed (Jupiter Ascending, The Man From U.N.C.L.E., Run All Night, Black Mass, and Hot Pursuit are the others). These six movies combine for an estimated $482 million in losses in 2015, and Warner Bros. only has had one film in the worldwide box office top ten this year: San Andreas at number ten. With big movies from other studios coming out in November and December that are guaranteed to kick San Andreas out of the top ten, 2015 has been a historically disastrous year for Warner Bros. Luckily the studio has Batman v. Superman: Dawn Of Justice in early 2016, which will likely lessen the blow. Which 2015 movie that hasn't turned a profit are you most surprised about?
