Domestic Gross: $339,714,978 It might surprise you to find Finding Nemo sitting here at the top of this list, but could you really argue with complete sincerity that such a charming, funny, universal and - quite frankly - beautiful slice of animated gold doesn't deserve to be at number one? As Pixar's fifth film, following the likes of Toy Story, A Bug's Life, Toy Story 2 and Monsters Inc., it's clear that Finding Nemo was aimed somewhat towards a slightly younger audience than its previous films, but there's no denying the sheer magic of the intoxicating underwater world rendered here. That's to say, this epic father/son story about two clownfish seeking to find one another across the span of an entire ocean pushed the boundaries of animated movies in classic Pixar fashion - the level of detail on show here is mind-blowing, the jokes are genuinely funny, the storyline is emotionally resonant. The best thing about Finding Nemo, of course, is the voice work - especially courtesy of the leads, played by Albert Brooks and Ellen DeGeneres. This is a timeless film that demands repeat viewings; an absolutely triumph for everyone involved. Like this article? Think we got the order wrong? Let us know in the comments section below.
