10 Highest-Grossing Movies Of All-Time In China

4. Lost In Thailand (2012)

Box Office Gross: 1.265 billion yuan China love them some buddy comedies, apparently, given that another one - this time a sequel named Lost In Thailand - comes in at number four. This is a follow-up to a previous buddy comedy flick called Lost On Journey, which doesn't really make much sense as far as titles are concerned, but what are you going to do? Still, the success of that film meant the success of this one - not to mention that it garnered pretty good reviews all round. The film, which stars comedy actors Xu Zheng and Wang Baoqiang, follows the exploits of two Chinese businessmen who travel to Thailand to find their boss and end up getting involved in a bunch of crazy shenanigans with ladyboys and illegal Buddha statutes; Lost In Translation this ain't. That said, Lost In Thailand is a pretty inoffensive movie and it's easy to see why it was so popular in China; for all its flaws (and there are a few) - it's inherently charming to watch from start to finish. There are certainly worse ways to spend 100 minutes.
