8. Reaction Mashup
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3JcmEnmmkCA Right, so this one isn't technically a parody trailer, but it is an example of how Star Wars works in the internet age. Reaction videos became a thing thanks to those horrible prank websites that seem really banal before revealing a jump scare, which people would sit their friends or grandparents in front of while recording their inevitable screaming terror. Or else it was all the fault of Two Girls, One Cup. Regardless, YouTube is now awash with everything from people reacting to scary video games to Miley Cyrus, and the outpouring of emotion for The Force Awakens is particularly ripe for documentation. You don't wanna have to sort through all these horrible vlogging channels and stuff, though, so thankfully somebody else has already done it for you. Blake Dale's mash up of people reacting, all simultaneously, to The Force Awakens trailer is actually sort of touching. All the parts where they match up are kinda sweet, like the beginning when half of the people all reflect on how long they've been waiting for these sequels, to everybody cheering and punching the air when the Millennium Falcon appears and the John Williams music soars. Aw.
