10 Hilariously Obvious Stunt Doubles Who Ruined Their Scenes
6. Point Break
Point Break is a triumph of macho brawn, pitting surf dude cop Keanu Reeves againdt surf dude robber Patrick Swayze, in a testosterone fuelled story of crime and not-quite-punishment that just about stops itself from spilling over into outright romance.
It gets pretty close, and the whole thing can probably be viewed as a homoerotic allegory for repressed sexuality (as most films with bromance in them can, if you look hard enough,) especially when you take shots like this mid-air snuggle into account. Who's that cuddling into Patrick Swayze's back? Well, it certainly isn't co-star Keanu Reeves, who has en entirely different face to this cone-haired character.
Clearly unimpressed with the idea of flinging himself out of a plane without a parachute, Reeves wimped out and left it to a trained professional, who was comically unable to hide the fact that he wasn't in fact the future star of The Matrix. And extra points for the obvious parachute shaped bump on the imposter's back as well. Sort of takes the edge off the stunt.
