8. Maximus Vs A Bunch Of Other Gladiators (Gladiator)
Are you not entertained?! Are. You. Not . Entertained? Is this not why youre here?! These words yelled by Maximus before he hurls a sword into a viewing box are almost quoted as much as the husband to a murdered wife, father to a murdered son speech from later on. They come right after he easily defeats a gauntlet of challengers with seemingly minimum effort. I have cheated a bit here, as he uses more than his fists to defeat them, but this performance is so boss-like I felt it had to be included. He cuts down several opponents as if they were trees and not seasoned arena competitors, capping it all off with a gruesome decapitation. The film had, by this point, already established Maximus as a legit bad ass, but strangely this scene does not seem surplus to requirement. We are right behind him as he seems to say you want me to be a gladiator? Well, have some of this! and kills everyone in his way with consummate ease.
