If you’ve ever wondered why the Fast & Furious franchise gives the majority of the stunts to Michelle Rodriguez rather than Jordana Brewster, just check out their resumes. Brewster usually gets eye candy and damsel in distress roles (Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning, anyone?), but since making her debut in Girlfight, Rodriguez has proved she doesn’t need rescuing from anyone.

It’s apt that she’s played a female warrior (Avatar), a zombie killer (Resident Evil) and an eyepatch-wearing badass (Machete), because her character in Nation Of The Dead is a composite of all three. Robert Rodriguez claims he based her character’s look in Machete on Snake Plissken, so she should have no problem leading a search and rescue mission into Necropolis.

If she encounters survivors, then this brusque, straight-talking soldier will make them put away their cricket bats in favour of heavy artillery. It’s called leadership, people.
