10 Hollywood Remakes Of Foreign Language Movies That Actually Didn't Suck

1. Cold Pursuit

The Departed Infernal Affairs
Summit Entertainment

This Hollywood remake is incredibly unique in the fact that the director of its 2014 Norwegian original In Order of Disappearance returned to direct its American 2018 version.

While this film was plagued by bad press surrounding controversial comments made by its star Liam Neeson and was essentially buried, it's actually an incredibly uniquely structured and humorous film. The lead villain - portrayed by Tom Bateman - is so entertainingly absurd and the intermittent kill counts that flash during the film makes for an interesting watch.

The remake wasn't quite as well received as the original and the fact that the same director helmed both movies so close together is very unusual, but both are still pretty great. Stellan Skarsgard and Liam Neeson are both engaging leads in an unusual black comedy take on the action genre.

Chances are I’m watching a movie or replaying Mass Effect rather than doing anything productive.
