6. Charles S. Dutton

Charles Stanley Dutton is best known for his roles as "Fortune" in the film Rudy, "Dillon" in Alien 3, and the title role in the television sitcom Roc (1991€“1994). In 2000, Dutton directed the HBO miniseries The Corner, which of course was a preamble to the greatest show of all time in the form of The Wire. As a youngster growing up in on the East side of Baltimore, Maryland, Dutton had quite the rough life. He dropped out of school before he even finished middle school. When he was 17, he got into a brawl which resulted in the death of a man Dutton claimed had assaulted him. Dutton was charged and convicted of manslaughter, and subsequently spent the next seven years in jail. While in the penitentiary Dutton found his true calling in the form of an acting career. He was released from prison and began his voyage on the road to being the actor we all know today.
