Apparently it doesn't matter if your character dies - you can be revived by the power of
endless corporate greed. Angelina Jolie's character dies at the end of comic book movie Wanted, and the writers, apparently not anticipating a sequel, were busy soon thereafter trying to think of a way to resurrect her for a second film. Their unsatisfactory job resulted in Jolie swearing off a sequel appearance, while star James McAvoy has stated that due to the scripting problems, the film is probably never going to happen. If you need to cobble together some already pretty shaky plot elements in order to sell a movie sequel, that's honestly probably the best sign you're going to get that it's a horrible, horrible idea.
