9. Nuclear Bombs (And Fridges) - Indiana Jones & The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
By contrast, here's one that had everyone from science nerds to Indy fans to casual audiences smacking their heads with exasperation; it is, of course, the infamous "nuked the fridge" scene in the execrable fourth Indiana Jones movie, The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Indy (Harrison Ford) finds himself stuck on a nuclear bomb testing site, and decides that the safest thing to do is to hide inside a lead-lined fridge in a model home nearby, while Spielberg ensures to close in nice and tight on the "lead lined" sticker, as though we'll just nod and accept it. The nuke detonates, and the fridge is catapulted through the air, before Indy emerges seconds later, positively unscathed as he admires the mushroom cloud from afar. Of course, in reality, even if Indy had survived the force of the shock wave throwing him so far and the radiation, a nuclear bomb would have melted the fridge in seconds, and so Indy would have been reduced to a fleshy sludge.
