Filmography: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Frankenstein, Pathfinder, Friday the 13th, Conan the Barbarian Look at Marcus Nispel. Look at his face. I'm sure he's a nice guy and everything, but does he look like somebody who should be directing a movie? Would you let him organise your wedding? A small gathering of friends, even? And yet crazy ol' Hollywood has let Mr. Nispel into its building a whopping five times, and every time he's done his best interpretation of what "making a movie" is supposed to look like. It's safe to say that the German-born music video director should stick to directing music videos. His last movie,
Conan the Barbarian, lost $50 million dollars at the box office. Think on that for a moment. Somebody gave Marcus Nispel a directing job, and he lost them $50 million dollars. He has to look that person in the eye now and again, firm in the knowledge that he cost them a fortune. The worst thing about this is that
Conan was apparently Nispel's dream project - one that he'd had since childhood. Now I'm kind of sad. Nobody liked his movie. He genuinely did his best. Oh, Hollywood, you cruel son of a . It's all so unfair.
