10 Horror Anthology Movies You've Probably Never Seen
1. Body Bags
The phrase TV Movie screams poor quality more often than not, especially before the dawn of the television revolution that we find ourselves in today. However, if you're willing to look, you'll find plenty of diamonds in the rough, and Body Bags is one such diamond.
Directed by heavy hitting horror legends John Carpenter and Tobe Hooper, Body Bags is a 1993 TV movie that features a number of recognisable and well loved stars. So much so, it's a surprise it's not more widely known, and most certainly is overdue a Blu-ray release.
John Carpenter himself stands in front of the camera, as well as behind it, as he stars as a creepy mortician who tells us the stories of three unfortunate souls, each one of which is a blast.
The first segment, The Gas Station, is a straight forward slasher that features both Wes Craven and Sam Raimi as Pasty Faced Man and Dead Bill respectively. The second segment, Hair, follows a middle aged businessman who undergoes a hair transplant with consequences he did not quite expect, or want. Lastly, the final segment, Eye, features Mark Hamill chewing scenery as a baseball player who receives a new eye following a car accident, only to suffer murderous impulses following the operation.
Body Bags may not be a commonly watched horror anthology but it deserves your attention. It's everything good about the horror anthology subgenre, and more.
