10 Horror Anthology Movies You've Probably Never Seen

4. Trilogy Of Terror

Like within any subgenre of horror, there are movies that are quintessential viewing. These movies tend to show you the best the subgenre has to offer, or have something missing from their fellow contemporary movies. Dead of Night and Creepshow are two highlights in the horror anthology collection, and Trilogy of Terror belongs up there with them.

Equal parts haunting and hilarious, this TV movie from 1975 may have largely been forgotten about, or seldom seen by the most recent generations, but it is a true joy to behold.

The movie consists of three segments, all based on shorts by the legendary author Richard Matheson, and they all star the esteemed Karen Black (The Day of the Locust) in various roles. What makes Trilogy of Terror so damn good is that every segment is strong, enjoyable viewing. However, the one that will forever capture the imagination will always be Amelia, where a young woman is terrorised in her apartment by a Zuni fetish doll.
