10 Horror Films That Exist Purely To Shock And Disgust
3. Scrapbook (2000)
Scrapbook hinges on a simple yet horrifying premisea sadistic man named Leonard (Tommy Biondo) kidnaps women and forces them to write down their desperate thoughts after he tortures them. He also takes snapshots with his Polaroid in order to capture the intense moments of fear. These sick souvenirs all go into his memoirs; a scrapbook filled with unthinkable agony and helplessness. The majority of the film focuses on his latest victim, Clara (Emily Haack). Needless to say, Clara doesn't get treated too well. She is locked up naked and is kept unfed. Vicious beatings and rapes fill her day and one such scene of Clara being vaginally penetrated with a broken bottle will make even the most unshakable horror fan squirm. In a nutshell: Scrapbook is home-made horror-porn from a director whose sadism is matched only by his crude-mindedness. Undoubtedly there is an audience for this stuff - there's an audience for just about everything - but hopefully, for the sake of humanity's future, it's a small audience, and one that isn't able to procreate too profusely.
