10 Horror Films For People Who Don’t Like Horror

10. Zombieland

I am beginning with a pair of movies that make this list because of their comedic value. I found the Zombieland scenes with actual zombies gratuitous and forgettable, but the rest of the film was witty and lively (how ironic). Featuring four talented leads, this film is a survival story, a road trip story, a love story, and routinely very funny. Jesse Eisenberg and Woody Harrelson are perfectly cast in their rolls as Columbus and Tallassee respectively and together they make a wonderful odd couple venturing across the country. Emma Stone and Abigail Breslin add the right amount of female toughness, charm, and vulnerability as Wichita and Little Rock. And then of course the film strikes comedic gold once Bill Murray makes his cameo as himself. No part of me looks forward to the day that Murray is no longer with us, but if he has to die, he should try to do it exactly as is presented here. €œSo, do you have any regrets?€ €œ€Garfield maybe.€ My sincere hope is that I never find myself in a Zombieland situation for many reasons, not the least of which is that then everyone would start calling me Warrensburg. But if a zombie apocalypse does happen, I could do worse than be part of a gang like this.

I humbly claim the title of renaissance man. I am a professional writer (published playwright), college soccer coach, world traveler, crime-fighting vigilante, part-time juggler, serious hiker, coin collector, counseling student, and doting father/husband among many other roles. (OK, one of those may not be true.)
