10 Horror Films Much Weirder Than You Remember

1. Exorcist II: The Heretic

Referring to Exorcist II: The Heretic as "strange" doesn't do it justice. Viewers probably don't remember how otherworldly and dreamlike this dire sequel is, since they didn't have a clue what was going on half the time.

Desperate to outdo the original, Exorcist II throws in every idea possible, whether or not it makes a lick of sense. As such, the film deals with telepathic machines, characters having mental connections to ancient Assyria, Regan developing psychic powers, malevolent locusts, and Regan's evil twin.

When Darth Vader himself, James Earl Jones, shows up as a scientist called Kokumo, it looks like he might be able to salvage this shoddy mess.

Ironically, the beloved Star Wars actor is responsible for the majority of the movie's bizarrest moments. Every time Kokumo appears, he does something nuts, including roaring like a leopard, dressing as a grasshopper, manifesting an orange from his mouth before spitting it out, or transporting characters inside a pocket universe.

When Kokumo discusses how the beating of locusts' wings are responsible for the evils of the world, it's clear the film has well and truly lost the plot.
