When adapting Count Dracula, filmmakers do what they can to deliver a unique take on the iconic vampire. Over the years, the Transylvanian demon has faced off against Billy the Kid, teamed up with Frankenstein, and fought freaking Batman. Which begs the question, what else can be done with the character?

And then, Dracula 2000 came along and proposed one of the most daring reinventions of the neck-chomping count yet. In this modern adaptation of Bram Stoker's novel, Drac is revealed to be none other than Judas Iscariot. After betraying Jesus Christ for 30 pieces of silver, God punished the former apostle by making him immortal.

This twist is pretty cool, since it explains why the Prince of Darkness has never been a fan of silver or Christian paraphernalia.

Unfortunately, the film is let down by... everything else. Due to the bad wigs, costumes, script, special effects, and performances, Dracula 2000 feels like a parody. Dracula: Dead and Loving It took the source material more seriously.

Also, the way it unsubtly emulates the look and feel of The Matrix makes Dracula 2000 look embarrassingly dated.
