10 Horror Films You Probably Haven't Seen But Should

7. A Haunting At The Rectory

A Haunting At The Rectory is a little-known Welsh horror gem that was released in 2015. Starring Suzie Frances Garton and Lee Bane, the production was written and directed by indie film director Andrew Jackson (who has released well over ten independent movies over recent years, including the Robert the Doll franchise).

The film, whilst ostensibly a ghost story, is also a deeply psychological affair exploring the troubled relationship between a married couple. The relationship is not an easy-going one, and the young wife (played by Garton) soon embarks on an affair. It is this infidelity which leads to some dark and disturbing events that have repercussions for all involved.

This movie is creepy and well cast, and despite the low budget it manages to convey a solid sense of dread and tension throughout. A Haunting At The Rectory is certainly worth a watch if you love a ghost story with a difference.
