10 Horror Films You Probably Haven't Seen But Should

6. Jessabelle

Beyond The Gates Scream
Lionsgate

Jessabelle is a 2014 American supernatural horror film, starring Sarah Snook, Mark Webber, David Andrews and Joelle Carter. It was written by Robert Garant and directed by Kevin Greutert - a man most notable for his work on the Saw franchise. This 90-minute creep-fest, released via Lionsgate, has become a bit of a firm favourite... for at least those who have seen it.

The story follows central character Jessie Laurent who is pregnant, but due to a fatal car accident, her partner dies and she loses her unborn child. Now confined to a wheelchair, Jessie decides to move in with her estranged father as she recovers. During this time, she discovers secrets about her childhood, her mother (who died many years ago), and then experiences a wealth of paranormal and inexplicable events.

The film is scary, and the story is solidly presented. As Jessie, Sarah Snook gives a tremendous performance throughout and gives the production a truly unsettling feeling. Jessabelle is definitely one of the best films on this list, and one you won't want to miss.
