5. The Hewitt Family (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre)
Like the mutants from the previous entry, the Hewitt family live a secluded life preying on anyone unfortunate enough to pass by. Not only are the Hewitt family murderers, they are also cannibals - so they don't just kill their victims, they also eat them. The same question is therefore raised again; how hasn't the number of missing people (those who have been killed and eaten by the Hewitts) been traced to the secluded area of Texas in which the Hewitts have been jovially carrying out their dastardly deeds for so long? We know from the iconic image at the conclusion of the film that a trucking route is very near to the house. We know that the kids in the original movie had recently passed a gas station quite close the house. We know from the remakes that there's a Sheriff's office quite close by. All of these things lead us to believe that there's enough human activity nearby to suggest that someone must know that there is evil afoot. Therefore, there is simply no way that the Hewitts should have been allowed to go about their grisly business for so long without something being done about it.
