10 Horror Movie Characters Everyone Hated (But Survived)
1. Simone - The Nun II
The Nun II wasn't a good movie, but in the very least it could've dealt some schlocky comeuppance for the kids bullying young Sophie (Katelyn Rose Downey), right?
At the French boarding school where her mother, Kate (Anna Popplewell), works, Sophie is regularly accosted by a group of French girls, led by the casually cruel Simone (Léontine d'Oncieu).
Simone and her bratty cronies verbally and physically abuse Sophie throughout the story, and Simone even scoffs at the school's caretaker, Maurice (Jonas Bloquet), for suggesting she stop being such an a**hole.
Everything seems set in motion for Simone and her pals to get their due when the proverbial hits the fan, then, and especially once a damn devil-goat-man-thing shows up in the third act.
Though the goat monster does attack and stab Simone, it's a relatively superficial wound and certainly not one that puts her in any mortal danger - unfortunately.
Considering both the movie's permissive R-rating and how much screen time was dedicated to establishing Simone's group as completely loathe-worthy, it was total missed opportunity to leave them all alive by the end.
After all, the movie started with a younger child being killed, so there clearly wasn't an inherent aversion to the idea. What gives?
