8. Mayor Wade - Eight Legged Freaks
Eight Legged Freaks' historic degenerate Mayor Wade (Leon Rippy) may as well have been holding a neon signpost which read, "I am a future victim."
Wade is not only responsible for toxic waste being dumped in the town of Prosperity and in turn causing the mutant spider rampage, he's also concerned almost entirely with money, while looking firmly down his nose at salt-of-the-Earth protagonist Chris (David Arquette).
And so, when all hell breaks loose it's little surprise that Wade proves to be utterly self-serving, fleeing to the mines and locking the door behind him so that nobody else in the town can join him, and as such causing further deaths.
It seems like a given that this cartoonish, mustache-twirling Bad Guy will get viciously devoured by a giant spider before film's end, and yet it bafflingly doesn't happen.
Sure, the guy's precious mall gets blown in the finale, but what's stopping him filing an insurance claim - which he even mentions in the movie - and starting a new mayoral campaign in another far-flung, podunk American town?
