10 Horror Movie Characters Given Last Minute Deaths

4. Clint Collins - Sinister 2

Though Sinister 2 was largely panned by critics - and rightly so - there was nevertheless scattered praise for Lea Coco who played Clint Collins, the monstrously abusive husband of protagonist Courtney (Shannyn Sossamon).

No matter the film's many flaws, Coco made Clint a genuinely detestable villain who proved far more terrifying than any of the movie's supernatural antagonists.

And so while it wasn't terribly surprising that Clint didn't make it to the end in one piece, many viewers were mystified that his death - where Clint is set on fire by Courtney's possessed son Zach (Dartanian Sloan) - occurs without us ever seeing his face.

As was confirmed by prominent film critic Scott Weinberg, Clint's death was a reshoot cobbled together during post-production.

Seemingly due to actor Coco's unavailability, the decision was made to simply stage the scene with a bag over Clint's face, ensuring his vicious deeds throughout the film were duly punished while using a stand-in to complete the scene.
