10 Horror Movie Characters That Didn't Deserve The Hate

One common complaint you'll hear about found footage classic The Blair Witch Project is that the main characters are "too annoying," especially the leader of the filmmaker trio, Heather (Heather Donahue).

Hell, actress Heather Donahue even received a Worst Actress Razzie award for her work on the film, which seemed positively ridiculous at the time and only more so today.

Now, Heather isn't supposed to be the most likeable of characters - she's incredibly precious about her film, for one, and perhaps doesn't always express her frustration in the healthiest way, but if you've ever gotten lost with people who aren't really doing much to help, you should be able to relate.

As for Heather being annoying? Fear makes people frantic and skittish, so it seems a little mean to ding her too much for that, especially considering her climactic, terrified monologue into the video camera.

Again, she's not super easy to warm to, but accepting the entirety of her increasingly dire situation, she deserves sympathy rather than hatred.
