Sarah and her pals love adventure, which we see in the film’s opening as they go whitewater rafting. However on the way home, Sarah’s husband and daughter are killed in a tragic car accident. One year later in an attempt to make her feel better, Sarah’s chums decide to take her spelunking (which has got to be one of my favourite words ever).

It goes horribly wrong. Not only are there nasty beasties living underground in the cave system that have a craving for human flesh, but Juno admits she’s taken them to a completely unknown cave system despite telling the group it was well explored. This is the first indication she’s got a knack for deception.

Next, when the group are first attacked, Juno accidently stabs companion Beth in the neck, and then leaves her to die! Not before Beth grabs Juno’s pendant in desperation however. Sarah later finds Beth who begs to be put out of her misery. Sarah complies, but notices the jewellery. It’s then we and Sarah realise that Juno and Sarah’s husband had been having an affair before his death.

Sarah, now a bona fide badass, confronts Juno, slamming a pickaxe into her leg and leaving her to face a whole crowd of the monsters. Since I refuse to believe the sequel to this film exists, let’s just say Juno’s grisly fate was undoubtedly deserved.
