10 Horror Movie Characters Who Survived Horrific Injuries

4. Quentin Smith Is Brutally Beaten & Horribly Slashed - A Nightmare On Elm Street (2010)

2010's A Nightmare on Elm Street remake may not be up to much, but who among us actually expected the quiet, nerdy Quentin (Kyle Gallner) to make it to the end in one piece?

He certainly takes a fair pasting from Freddy Krueger (Jackie Earle Haley), though.

In the film's climax, Quentin is horrifically slashed across the chest by Freddy's bladed glove, slammed around the dream world, stabbed again by Freddy, thrown against a wall, and further assaulted.

And yet, despite having a neon signpost around him that says "Victim!," he actually survives the movie, with Nancy (Rooney Mara) saving him and taking Freddy out just in time.

Hilariously, Quentin proves so unexpectedly hardy and resilient that Freddy even quips at him, "Now, why don't you just f**king die!?"

Quentin certainly isn't in a good way by film's end, being taken off in an ambulance with Nancy at his side, but he nevertheless makes it out alive. That's more than can be said for his counterpart in the original 1984 film - Johnny Depp's ill-fated Glen Lantz.
